In 2003, a group of Harvard Business School classmates launched Graduate Leverage (GL), a student run organization with the goal
of helping fellow students manage the challenges of student loan debt. The consultative approach proved extremely beneficial to
borrowers as thousands of graduate students around the country began to signup for GL's free information service.
Recognizing an opportunity to help students further lower the cost of their student debt through the use of collective bargaining, GL
initiated a platform allowing it to function as an intermediary on behalf of students to secure better terms and rates. This innovative
approach combined with personalized debt management advice helped thousands of students lower the cost of their student debt.
In 2006, GL launched its own life of loan servicing platform to provide students and financial aid offices a higher level of service and
accountability. Central to this launch was the belief that effective debt management during repayment is critical to mitigating cost. Thus,
GL has uniquely coupled its loan programs with its proprietary servicing and advisory platform enabling students to execute cost saving
strategies.
Today GL is pleased to provide students and families a single source for all of their student loan needs. GL continues to help students
by providing a comprehensive suite of private and federal loan products, analytical tools, and services designed to minimize the cost of
education related debt.

Business Development Analyst - Boston (Waltham), MA
Graduate Leverage is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as Business Development Analyst. This new position within our company will manage the identification and assessment of potential business development opportunities to expand the market for our financial services. This short-term contract position has the potential to become permanent after a few months based on the performance of the individual and the success of the business development. This is a tremendous opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join a quickly-growing, dynamic, fast-paced team and help create new business opportunities with the potential to manage any new partnerships once a permanent position is established. This position comes with enormous potential for advancement and professional growth.
Job duties
- Identify and assess potential business development opportunities
- Establish contact with business development targets and arrange initial meetings
- Provide analysis and competitive benchmarking
- Assist in development of B-2-B marketing materials
- Interface at all levels of the organization including senior management.
Required Competencies / Experiences:
- 0 - 2 years work experience
- Bachelor’s degree or current student pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Candidate should be an autonomous, self-starter with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Strong information-seeking skills and proactive nature
- Ability to learn quickly, to understand complex business issues, find creative ways to solve problems and make sound decisions that benefit GL
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
- Expert with MS Office products including Excel or other modeling platform
